When it rain, it pours By; Ms. Beauty Turner

When it Rain it pours
Ms. Beauty Turner

On Tuesday, December 9th 08, in the wee hours of the morning , many of us woke up to the sounds of heavy rain pouring on our rooftops, like a waterfall, or pecking up against our windows like birds eating, birds seeds. depending on where you live.
After leaving my television on all night, which I find my self doing, quite a lot these days, after finding myself staying up late, writing. ,when I open up my eyes, all I could see, were the bright colorful lights, that lit up my room with every flicker, and heard the sounds of early morning news.
BREAKING NEWS flashed across the screen in vivid red colors, with a follow up report- “'Governor Rod Blagojevich was arrested by Federal Agents in his home,'' as well as his Chief of Staff.
For numerous of years a dark black cloud of 'allege' corruption hung over his head like a guillotine on a loose piece of thread ready to fall at anytime.
But this morning that guillotine, and cloud that hung over his head dropped and, burst leaving him losing his head, all while soaking and allegedly saying 'You got to be kidding,” as the Agents usher him off to jail.!”
When it rain,it pours!
United States FEDERAL Agent Patrick Fitzgerald stood up in front on my television screen, reading off a slew of federal charges against the Governor, one of those charges that he read was that Blagojevich was trying to get some of the politicians an opportunity to allegedly pay him for The United State Senator seat, the one that President elect Barack Obama left vacant, after he was elected the 44th President.
Was he allegelly trying to auction off the United State Senator's seat. like a piece of rare art.
Many Chicagoan say that pay to play politic, runs through Chicago like Lake Michigan runs along the shoreline , Chicago use to be known for gangsters, prohibition, Al Capone, Machine gun Kelly – now it's very well known for its unfair politics. Crook County- if you have enough money you can buy our parking meters , Every thing here seem to be for sell.
Many politicians , who have already been indicted, was known for dressing up Chicago like a cheap hooker, short skirt with big red lips, and fish net stocking, and high heels shoes, and called it the city that work!
Many people told me that its good too see that the G men, are still on the case, just like in the days of old.
Lieutenant Governor Pat Quinn, who happen to be next in line as acting Governor, appeared in a press conference recently and asked the Governor to either step aside or resign.
The FBI say that the Governor have hit a new low!
It's a difficult time for our State, it's a difficult time for our people in an economic crisis time.
“'I woke up praying for our Governor and I ask that you the public pray for him and his family too.' Quinn said.
Chicago Mayor Richard Daley says it's up to Governor Blagojevich to decide whether to resign, it's a sad day in Illinois.“Maybe that is why it is raining!”
Maybe that is the very reason " why it is raining< America is crying, you think!"

Beauty's Comments to the people and to the President Elect

"I feel that it is great, that we now have an African American as President,
(President Elect- Barack Obama)
but yet our struggle continues!"
Meaning the struggle of the poor.
Too many presidents, before him have forced our issues to the back burners, as African Americans, and people of many colors who are poor .
We can no longer accept being put in the back ground,
But lift our heads, our hearts and our minds and our bodies and lay our issues at his feet.
I'm glad that my eyes have seen and witness that we as a people can become
any thing or anyone in America, but we as a people need to bring our issues, not to a Black President, but to a President, that just happen to be Black!

What about the poor? By Ms. Beauty Turner

Ms. Beauty Turner
What about the poor????

As a concerned citizen, an organizer, a fighter and a writer, who has fought the battle against injustice and will continue to, concerning housing, police terrorism,on behalf of ex-offenders, homeless veterans, and against the State taking partenity of our childrens.

Also as a former resident of public housings, who have watched low income housings be dragged down like the statue of Husien in Iraq, with nothing to replace it for the poor.

My question is what about the poor?

I have seen low income housings as well as minimums wage jobs tumble down in Chicago as well as in the rest of the world, just like the walls of Chicago public housings. Not only have I SEEN minimums wage jobs fall , but so have middle income jobs, are they the politicians too busy looking at the White house that they can't see that we are in the red.

While they are slugging away at each other and giving each other black eyes.
My advice to them is take the rare, sometime raw steak out of your mouths, or push the Sushi away from your finely linen tables,

and put it up to your eyes and see the real world, the American people are hurting!
Many of American dollars have been dumped in an open pit, concerning the war with no real end in sight.

In both debates the Presidential, with United State Senator Barack Obama and Senator McCain. As well as the Vice Presidential debates with Senator Bidden and Governor Palin, all I ever heard them say or talk about- is about the middle Class families.

Are all of them so out of touch with the American people, are they all out of touch with American period?

Have the sun in Hawaii blinded them to the real facts? Or the whiteness of the snow in Alaska blinded them to the fact that there will be no middle class?

There will be no middle class if the stock market continues to drop like the Atomic bomb did on Himoshima Japan, there will be no middle class if the jobs continues to fold down like Lawn chairs being put away for the winter, while people are being laid off.

Recently in the city of Chicago , in city hall over a thousand city workers have received or will receive pink slips- middle income jobs, down the drain,no factory work, no steel mill work, those types of jobs have been shipped oversea's many moons ago. In the health care industry, Board President Todd Stroger closed down hospitals, clinics, even police officers, teachers, reporters, Bus drivers and the like are ask to take a buy out of being laid off.
reminding you that these are middle class families jobs!

President Bush is looking for a $700 Billions dollars bail-out!!!!
If this continues United State Senator Barack Obama , Senator Bidden, Senator Mc Cain. Governor Palin there will be only two groups of people.

That will be the rich and the poor.

Maybe it is time that you draw a line in the sand and pick which group do you truely represent- the rich, or the poor!

That leave the American people who you claim you want to represent asking
Who will you support????? But most importantly
WHO SHOULD WE?

Ms. Beauty Turner

"A People in Perils"

As we stand in the mist of a new millennium, about to embark upon another long and stressful journey against injustice; concerning housing, police terrorism, racial profiling, and ex-offenders, homeless veterans, and our babies being rocked and cradle by the state.

I can no longer pretend that I'm blind walking in the dark with a cane or a seeing eye dog, I see what is laid out before our eyes.

I see poor people as well as middle income people being forced out of this city in record numbers, and not because of a viability study, nor a Congress mandated law, but only out of a need for greed.

I see the road that is paved out before us, a marvel, hard and rocky road, we have many pot holes, and many cracks in this system; on this city sidewalk street of life; that needs to be filled and addressed, filled with an understanding that the poor will be among you always.

The poor will no longer hide in the cracks of society or no longer bow down and be the foot stools for the rich, but will stand tall against injustice and shall and will be counted.

I'm no longer Sleeping Beauty, I'm wide awoke and is trying to enlighten my people!

I see big company merging and forcing small companies out of business, I see the state taking paternity of our children, and I see young men and young women being locked up behind cold, gray steel bars, being used as commodities for cheap labor.

I see many of my people being issues felonies like Halloween candy on trick or treat night; a scary thought.

Many of them will not be able to vote in the up incoming historic election.

I can see in the water and spot dry land.

A familiar road, one that we as a people have travel down many times before , a road of injustice that have stolen many lives, and many people lively hoods; where every day is a constant battle just to get up!

A long dusty, whinnying road of trails and tribulations.

We as a people have came to a cross road, and have hit a fork in the road, that leaves us asking the questions, that we need to ask ourselves.

Where do we go from here?

Do we turn back the hands of time? And go back into the days of slavery, or segregation, or march forward into a brand new day into Freedom and jubilation, or stay put, or digress into transgressions?

My heart, mind body and soul and every fabric of my being, screams out and aches with pain and is saying, we came to far to turn back now!

We as a people, need to say no more, we can no longer accept the unacceptable!

Our little Black, Brown and poor White babies deserve a future!

No longer shall we allow the strong holds to bind us, nor cloud our best judgments against righteousness.

Oppose wrong and do the right thing concerning my people!

For over 400 years we have been put down, spit on, marked and ridicude in your unjust society.

Too many of our so called prominent leaders hands are in the cookies jars, afraid to lose a crumb off of the master table, otherwise tied because of too many favors.

My hand are not tied, but open wide to receive, and reveal the truth.

My calling is to reveal the truth so that injustice can no longer continue to grow and flourish like weeds;

growing from the good emerald green ground.

Otherwise it can no longer hide it ugly slimy gray head. Even in high places!

A word to the wise, remember there's something or someone higher than you!

This unjust system will one day surely fall, just like the bricks from public housing wall's, and just like the walls of Jericho, all of this will tumble down one day.

We as a people must continue to stand up against injustice, for God is the beam that we stand for and they stand against.

We will not fall, but stand tall in God's mighty light!

I say just like the days of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Do you have your marching shoes on? Otherwise keep on a walking, keep on a talking, marching down the Freedom lane, marching toward the Freedom Train!

It will come a day when men that think like me will no longer be called Common men, but be known as men that is common!

“MASS MILLENNIUM MOVEMENT MARCH”

Calling for a “MASS MILLENNIUM MOVEMENT MARCH”
Organizing starting now!
Poor People Millennium Movement Founder
Ms. Beauty Turner
E-mail me if you are interested in being a part of history.
BeautyTurner@gmail.com

Your opinions are welcome!!!!!!

We have marched in Lawndale, we have marched in Bronze Ville,
We have marched in Austin, we have marched in the emerald green grass on the west side of Chicago in Garfield Park, as well as on the south side on the concrete walkways in Washington Park.
We have marched in Auburn Grehams, we have marched in the Pullman community, we have marched until our feet have literally became swollen,
Red, raw and sore.
And still yet the violence’s have not seized.
Our babies are being drowned, stabbed and shot down like rabid dogs
Not only by allege gang members but also shot in the back by law enforcements, even some of the killings have not been reported.
Right here on our city streets , right here in Chi-town- right here in good old boy Chicago, right here in America, right here on American rich black soil.
We have marched all over this city, weeping and crying until we have callas on our feet and yet the conditions has worsen .
So now we will take it from the streets, straight to the Chief.
Mayor Richard M. Daley.
He appointed Supt Weiss to do a job, but nothing have stopped the violence’s nor the killing
We need answers, we need solutions, we need the killing to stop, and we need it now!
No more hiding our heads in the sand, no more burying our feet in wet concrete
Our new spiritual for the new millennium is:

“No more weeping, no more weeping, no more weeping over me!
Before I be afraid, I be buried in my grave and go to my lord to be free!”

Police allegedly raid memorial services

Ms. Beauty Turner

On July 25th, all hell broke loose in a Southside neighborhood of Englewood on 57 Winchester, due to reports from the trenches-the people on the grounds reportedly said the Chicago police struck once again, trying to bust up a peaceful memorial to a young man slain by the name of Benny Ross about a week ago.
Family, friends and activists had gather in an open school lot; honoring their love one memory, a love one who had been killed by youth on youth violence. When all of a sudden, according to witnesses (allegedly) numerous of police cars rolled in blasting their sirens and blinking their lights allegedly cussing and calling the African American children, “Black apes according to some of the witnesses.
" The police officers said that Ross weren't a favorite person of their, they were glad that he was dead and gone," according to a reliable witness.
Someone else who didn't want their names mention (due to allege retaliation) told me over the telephone that an officer spoke out bluntly saying “you all need to quit hanging in a playground and go hang in a tree!”
I received a call from Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. of the POCC at 5:58 pm, Many of you might know his father slain Civil Rights Leader of the Black Panther Party Chairman Fred Hampton Sr. Hampton Jr.was on the scene. ,
while talking to him; I could tell that in his voice that he were deeply trouble; as well as highly upset. .
“Hey Sis,’ a pet name he often calls me concerning a story or an event that he want announce, he yelled over the receiver- “The Chicago Police is dragging and beating some children that are on Henderson Elementary School lot. .
“Call for some media to come out here!” He continues.
All while he was talking; I could plainly hear a lot of sirens sounding off in the background, as well as a lot of yelling taking place .
I first called the media and explained to them that there may be a breaking story, gave them the source, time, date and location-
No media showed up, so I stayed with the story.
As a journalist; I called Chicago Police Department spoke people to inquire about the allegation, that had just been brought to my attention.
A police officer told me there was no such action taking place; nothing is going on there! He went on to say that we are trying to do our jobs serve and protect, I politely asked him.
Don’t you think you should first look into those accusation, before answering me I asked him.
He said he would and call me back.
When he called me back, he stuck to the same story as before.
Another twenty Min went passed, Chairman Fred called me back and said that no media was there.
I could still hear loud disturbing sirens as well as scuffling and yelling in the background; sometime getting so loud it drowned out our conversation. After we hung up, ten second later,
Someone called me from Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. telephone telling me that the police dragged Chairman to jail after allegedly beating him.
A few moment later; I received another call telling me about another activist named Grant News burger; who were also allegedly beaten by police officers and taken to jail.
So I called CPD spoke people again and asked them about Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. as well as about Grant being locked up, is there any truth in that?
He hung up vowing to call me back after he checked- less than five min later he said yes; he is locked up, him and ten other people for mob action, a few officers were hurt taken to the hospital; but they will be okay he added. Mind you earlier I was told nothing was going on over there.
Activists reported that: People refused to be intimidated. When police tried to forcibly disperse them, police were met instead with people calling them "murderers!", some holding up Revolution newspapers and pointing to its cover headline "TRIGGER HAPPY POLICE...AND A CRIMINAL SYSTEM". Police charged the crowd with tasers drawn, beating many. Hank Brown, Revolution journalist, activist Fred Hampton, Jr. and Grant News burger along with a number of neighborhood youths were beaten and arrested, including two Revolution distributors.
CPD Spoke person said-“Yes Ms. Turner ten people were arrested for mob action , “Yes. Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. was one of them.”
News burger were taken to a nearby hospital attended to and taken back to a holding cell.
They stayed in jail for twenty four hours and released.
Legal Defends lawyer Anthony Hill came out to see what was happening to the ten young men that were arrested.
According to Chairman Fred Hampton Jr. Their court date is August 22 at 1pm on 51 Wentworth in branch 34-4
To all Activists and family and friends as well as concerned citizens “Come out and show your support for the people involved..”

"Our Rights" as a people by Ms. Beauty Turner

"Our rights"
Ms. Beauty Turner

Our Constitution starts off with these words -“We the people!”
.
We the American people are being forced to accept a water down, diluted version of our Constitutional Rights ,all in the sake of fear.

Fear is an ingredient that the politicians used as a substitute sugar, only to trim the crust off our slice of the American apple pie, to sweeten our taste buds as they continue to cut away our Constitutional rights.
Leaving us with a foreign bitter taste of what America use to be.

With fear lingering over our heads like an American flag, we will readily hand over our rights without a struggle and let the Government have a blank check to cash out, with what ever they say, to so call keeps us safe.
Which is what is leading us into a growing tangle weed of a recession.

Once an old wise man said to me, as I say to you today.
‘You have nothing to fear; but fear itself!”
Use your own heads for more than a hat rack, think before you hand over anything that takes away from who you are!
Fight to keep your rights, fight for what makes America what it is! Stand up and be vigilant for your self- Freedom begin with standing up not sitting down and placing your head in the sand like a frighten ostrich!

Fear is an unnecessary ingredient that is being forced down our narrow throats, we as a people must throw it back up and not swallow this as truth
You know not what to expect when you were a new born. Never knew what life entails.
You don’t know what to expect when you are dead and gone, because many of you haven’t died before and came back to tell it.
Life is a journey that you take and know not where it begin or end- but it is what you do here that makes the different.
Hopefully you create a great different for a multitude of many, than your life wasn’t lived in vain.

Our constitution started off with we the people and that where it must end.
Liberty, justice and Freedom for all!
How sweet it is!

Shedding a mother's tear

By Ms, Beauty Turner

While Mayor Daley Irish eyes are smiling and sleeping,
young Black and Hispanic mothers are sobbing, crying and weeping.
Our babies are dying on our city street;
many of them with no food in their mouth and no shoes on their tiny feet.
Politicians tore down the jects,
saying it was infested with gangs and drugs and rats.
They built mixed income communities in it place,
saying you can move into it if you of another race
On a fix income, they lable you a bum.
But if you are rich and drink rum,
all day!
They say is that how we play!
We are in a recession with our wallets flat
Now they playing with our children lives; Russian Rolette ….
Having phony accountable meetings- waving Hi to the crowd a special greeting,
while marching with "Stop the killing" signs in the hood,
Thinking that all they have to do as politicians to make it good!
Not really getting any traction, only want Chicago as a tourist attraction.
Gun fire erupting in the air , about our babies they don’t seem to care!
All while saying Jody Weiss is the one that not being treated fair!
Chicago streets flows with blood, while Wisconsin rivers flood
Dying Black and Hispanic babies sleeping, young mothers lay crying,
sobbing and weeping.
Another child blood is spilled- another Black or Hispanic child is killed
Superintendent Jody Weiss, treat the Black and Hispanic communities as if they had lice.
Experimenting on our babies; like they are lab mices.
A weeping willow here, shedding a mother's tear,
Please dear Lord wipe away our fear!
The prayer that I pray; is dear God make them sincere!!!!

"A word to the Weiss" by Ms. Beauty Turner

A word to the Weiss
Ms. Beauty Turner
National Award winning Journalist
Activist / Researcher
BeautyTurner@gmail.com

On July 15 the new police Superintendent Jody Weiss was summon to a hearing by the Aldermen on the second floor at City hall located at 121 North LaSalle.

An accountability committee meeting at City Council took place a little after 10AM.

Leading the charge was Alderman Isaac S. Carothers 29th ward;
himself as well as others were highly upset by the crime that have been erupting like hot lava throughout Black and Hispanic gentrifying communities.

Thinking hard about the killing of our youth here in Chicago; it made me think about our telephone lines being known for housing thousands of grey and white pigeons.
There’s an Analogy that stands out vividly in my mind like a sore red thumb; concerning the violence that is plaguing our communities.
That Analogy is……
If these actions are not addressed "Our children are standing on a fragile power keg that is ready to erupt into gun violence at the drop of a pigeon feather.

Over 35 youth have been gunned down on our city streets by allege gang members
As well as eleven young adults have been shot in the back and killed by law enforcement and the numbers are study rising like mercury in a thermostat on a hot muggy day with no end in sight!

Many hot communities that are experiencing youth killings are on the Southside, west side and the South east side-all the areas where many Chicago Housing Authority public housing residents have relocated into.
.
With Weiss not even into his job a good six months; the Chicago crime rate has risen 13%; leaving the streets of Chicago covered like the red sea in our youth blood and not in emerald green grass and yellow flowers like Mayor Daley said that he wanted.

Many of Chicago citizen’s are saying that protecting the environment and not the people is a very unpopular move
If these types of actions continue you can bet that there will be no 2016 Olympic here on the windy shores of Chicago!

Mayor Richard M. Daley as well as Weiss have joined forces blaming the media for bringing attention about officers that inflict unwarranted pain on to civilians, allegedly leaving them too timid to do their jobs affectedly.

Daley as well as Weiss are trying hard to implement the SOS tactics team that they earlier had dismantle because of corruption …….

Many people in high places told me that Weiss is being used as a scrape goat and he should be given time as he experiment with his strategy in policing Chicago.

My mother always said that there are many ways to skin a goat; one-way is to tell the truth and shame the Devil.

As Black and Hispanic women who are mother’s and grandmother’s we can no longer afford to continue to be silence while our children are being killed on our city streets as if they are in a war in Iraq!
Our babies are not lab mice so Weiss could continues {Daley} experimenting with their life‘s.

A word to the Weiss from the Black and Hispanic communities.
We want the killing to stop from gang members as well as from the hands of law enforcement?
And we want it NOW!!!!!
Do the job that you are being healthily paid for by the tax payers to do!
Protect all of Chicago neighborhoods as if it was the Gold coast!
Don’t neglect one, no not one, but serve all!

Is CPD Making Unnecessary Contact?

Is CPD making unnecessary Contacts?

Ms. Beauty Turner

I received numerous of complaints of black men and boys on busses being searched and forced to fill out contact cards by the Chicago Police officers,
A black mother told me that she showed her four year old son; young black men being searched threw and threw by officers, talking as if she were disgusted by it.
She describe the scene:
One of the officer who were Caucasian dressed in his blue uniform pats down a young black man wearing a white tee shirt, they didn’t have too look to far, his pants were already hanging down over his buttocks revealing his blue and white stripy Michael Jordan underwear, he had no belt on.
His large black cotton candy natural uncombed hair spilled, wildly off from underneath his baseball cap.
As the officer yanks it off of his head, and ask the boy do you have anything in your pockets or in your hair that will poke me.
No. the boy replied!
Farther down the aisles other young men as well as older black guys were going through something similar.
While some of the elderly women, middle age women and young girls and some of the babies cried out as they looked up from their seat at this activity in shock.
They made each of the young men and older guys fill out contact cards.
I called CPD Spoke person department and asked them about Young black men and boys being searched on busses is that a law now?
“The police can do that if they receive a call from the bus driver about or during an incident,” A CPD spoke person said.
The mother told me that she told her son as she turns him toward the officers “I want you to see this; this is what you got to look forward to if you get old enough !” all while shaking her head in disgust.
Similar activities happen in slavery days a black mother would show her son a black man hanging from the limb of a tree after he had been lynched for speaking out or not obeying his master.
I could just imagine what that mother said in those days, probably something like this ‘This is what happens to black men that don’t follow the master rules! Or I don’t want you Toby hanging from no tree limb!
Fear was a big tactic that the system used in those days, Many people think that it seem to be similar in these days,
Another incident near 79th street: a young men standing by a car talking to friends who just were deplored out of Iraq- two black detectives jumps out of their car and start searching the young man that were talking too his friends that were seated in the car, allegedly using harsh and abusive language, After other people started to complain they gave the young man who was the driver in the car who had been in Iraq servicing his country a $150 ticket.
“I think that the searches Is against your Constitutional rights , I think the contact cards are just a blanket way of taking all of our rights!” Erick Bryant a young black man who by the way is a Music Engineer said.
Bryant went on too say he were told by an officer recently that you don’t have any rights!
“I don’t feel that what they are doing making people fill out contact cards are right!”
Patrice Robinson a young mother of a twelve year old son said
“If I saw them searching and doing that to my son I will have a fit!”
Robinson went on to say.
“Every black man is not a criminal,” Robinson went on to say.
When it comes to the Contact Cards I’m not satisfy with not knowing what they are doing with the data they are collecting!
Alderman Pat Dowels (3 ward) said.
After bringing these incidents to Attorney Tamara Holder attention (the Attorney who filed a law suit about the Contact cards)
A pattern and practice of police making citizens fill out contact cards must be addressed by our new Superintended Weiss, not all Black men are criminals!
Attorney Tamara Holder said.
You have a Constitutional Right not to be searched and Siege’s!
“Just stand up for your rights and say no even if it means getting arrested for what you believe in!” Holders Replied.

A "bitter" pill to swallow!

By; Ms. Beauty Turner

Twenty three Chicago Public School age children; were shot down and killed like rabid dogs; right here in the United State, where United States Senator, Presidential hopeful candidate’s Barack Obama and Senator Hillary Clinton’s live , matter fact right here in their own backyards in Illinois through gangs and gun violence,
Our nation children use to chew Bazooka bubble gum and make it pop they use to
once hold on to a stack of books and colorful lollipops now they hold onto weapons like machine guns, Oozes, tech nine, and Saturday night specials as well as other versions of guns and pop each other.
As the future President You need to find out what is needed to give hope to the future generations that is yet too come!
But yet the Democratic Presidential Candidates are debating and fussing over words like bitter, or fighting over was Reverend Wright right to bring up race in America.

We the general public is believing that by listening to them that this fraudulent way of thinking is a bitter pill to swallow.

American people are losing their jobs like teeth from a frail ,comb in a tangle person head of hair, but yet they argue about being bitter. Our low income public housing has been demolished and pulled down like that statue of Hussein in Iraq, and many other homes in the private market has went in to foreclosure at the drop of a bad loan.

But yet they bicker about who’s elite enough or not!

The American people have grown sick and tried of being sick and tried and we have drew the line in the sand; either you get back on this high horse of an issue meaning the State of America or we will be bitter!
Large Air Line companies that were flying high like ATA in the Nation skies are going out of business, canceling all flights leaving the flying public with no where to plant their feet on solid grounds.

The American dollars has reduce itself to just the mere thread that holds it together,” a penny for your thought” if you know what I mean.

But yet these two officials sit high in their Ivory towers and look down their noses wondering if they are elite or not,
While over fifty public schools are due to be close before the end of the summer.
Bomb scares, and frighten notes are leaving College students crying in the rain with no one to dry their tears
Adding up to more school closing.

But yet you both bicker at each other about living the simply life, when there’s nothing simple about running the United State.
Many people have told me that they are appalled as American citizens to watch this public display of two of the most prominent
people that they once took as intelligent human being bickers about being bitter while the people
which is the glue that bonded America together fall to the wayside!
My advice to you is for you to get off your high elite horses and get back into the saddle of making America what it use to be and still can be “the greatest!”
“Now, go run tell that!”

Democratic Presidential debate " A Bitter Pill to swallow"

“Go tell it on the Mountains”

“We will be heard from the bowels of the ghetto, to the grassy hills in the white house, to your Ivory towers
In the white fluffy Cumberland clouds, to the vast black holes in the universe.
God said, “Go tell it on the mountains!”

"Snap, Crackle and Pop "

“Snap, crackle, pop.”
Ms. Beauty Turner

“Pop, pop pop;” no that isn’t the sound’s of snap-crackle-pop-
that you hear once you pour milk over your cereal in a bowl, nor is it the sound of fireworks popping and exploding in the windy city, stock yard air, on the lake front in downtown Chicago on the fourth of July.

But our children are hearing that sound much too often in low income communities all around the city.

Not only are they hearing it but they are falling prey to it and are dying right here on American soil.

In case you haven’t guess by now what I mean, “I mean gun shots.”
In too many of our communities gunshots have a way of erupting like an acid volcano from up the street, around the corner and down the block now that sudden areas in Chicago are being gentrified.

“I believe that this shooting and killing of our youth have a lot to do with the city plan to move ten of thousands of low income people from the housing projects into the private market,” Leona Williams a relocated resident from Robert Taylor Homes said.

After all there is an history about these types of actions like for instant in the early 1970 we experience this same type of problem in the Woodlawn community with a gang called the El Rukins allegedly creating a lot of chaos’s so that people would pack up their bags and leave the Woodlawn area so that policy makers, and sudden preachers could move poor people out and move richer people in.

Many people believe that the top gang leaders know this, but they are using the foot soldiers (who don’t know) to carry out these chaotic actions, so poor black people can leave the city, so this city can do what Woodlawn did, gentrify for the 2016 Olympic and to make this city a tourist attraction all from the red blood of our babies.

It use to be the sounds of children playing and laughing on the streets and in the parks, swinging on swings, sliding down sliding boards, playing in sand boxes, along with the smell of charcoal from barbeque ribs, chicken wings, hot dogs and hamburgers sizzling on a grill, young people playing baseball, young boys with big sloppy shorts hopping up making a shot at the hoops, little black girls braids bouncing up and down as they jump rope on the concrete side walks.
“Oh, those were the good Old days!”
“Oh, but what a different a day make!” ,

Now our babies are scared to play outside due to a chance of catching a bullet instead of a ball from gang violence.

Once a wise man said that a nation is judge by the laughter of her children

and guess what? Our children are crying at each other grave sites
So what is that telling you about our nation?

“This city have snapped, about to make me crackle and pop ,” Said Darryl Young a veteran known as (Pops) in the Robert Taylor Homes.

CHA residents wins a battle

CHA residents Wins a Battle
By; Ms. Beauty Turner

For numerous of years the Chicago Police Department have been arresting young men and young women
For trespassing when they came to visit a relative or simply if they lived in public housing developments and couldn’t show the officers a State ID.
Community Activist Barbara Moore alerted me to this issue in 2005 when her grandson were constantly being detained and arrested after visiting her in the Robert Taylor Homes I written about it in the South Street Journal.

Dariul Moore age 18 at that time were allegedly threaten and told by CPD not to visit his bed ridden grandmother while she lived in the projects.
Or he would be constantly arrested for trespassing.
“One time was to much to be arrested for visiting my Grandmother,“ according to Dariul Moore
“My grandson was afraid to come over and visit me,” Moore said in a telephone interview on February 17, 08.
“It felt wrong to me; as if it were illegal even back than!” Moore added.

It’s unconstitutional for residents in public housing to be treated any less than being American citizens.
Being poor shouldn’t make you any less than any one else in America; and any one else that being treated unfairly challenge it in the court of law.

Recently that same issue were raised in 2007 during my Ghetto Bus Tours.
Residents from the Dearborn homes, and Harold ICKES Homes told me what were taking place in their homes,
Residents from Harold ICKES Homes sued CPD,CHA and the city about this trespassing issue .
And this year they are finding out that fighting back pays off.

Recently Attorney Tamara Holder stood up in support of some of the residents in the court of law and this is the results.

Defendants Acquitted In Ickes Trespass Case Elevates Tamara Holder’s Fight For Public Housing Residents
CHICAGO, IL (February, 2008) – On February 8, 2008, Tamara N. Holder, Esq., who has been leading the fight for Harold Ickes Homes residents, recently won two cases of trespass on the Ickes property by way of acquittal. The State of Illinois failed to meet its burden that Ickes residents could not have visitors on the property and such visitors would be arrested for trespass by Chicago Police.
Each defendant, Larry Smith and LaCharles Washington, was charged with two counts of trespass: Trespass to State Supported Land and Trespass to Real Property. Attorney Holder subpoenaed the Chicago Housing Authority and the Woodlawn Organization (the Ickes’ property manager) for alleged rules and regulations that residents could not have visitors.
LaCharles Washington was visiting his infant child prior to going to school at 10 am, when he was arrested outside the steps of an Ickes building and detained for ten days. He was later told by an assistant public defender to plead guilty if he wanted go home since he could not afford to post bond. Attorney Holder was in court that day and convinced Mr. Washington to withdraw his plea of guilty and fight for his innocence.
Friday’s victories also settle a previous belief of Judicial Sub circuit No. 9 Judge Marvin P. Luckman, who, in open court, previously told defendant Larry Smith, “Unless you are on the lease, you can’t be on the Ickes property.” Mr. Smith is also the father of an infant child who resides on the property; he was arrested with the child’s mother, Marie Battle, last July. Attorney Holder tried Ms. Battle’s case last October, which resulted in a not guilty verdict by Judge Luckman.
These acquittals now set a precedent for the many pending and potential future trespass cases against relatives and friends of Ickes residents. The victories also provide more fuel to the class action lawsuit filed by Attorney Holder on behalf of Harold Ickes Home residents against the City of Chicago Police Department in October of 2007. Attorney Holder has received hundreds of complaints regarding abuse of police power, including but not limited to trespass.
Attorney Holder, who represented the men pro bono, commented, “the most important thing to me is that public housing residents realize that they do not have lesser rights just because the live in public housing.” She continued, “These victories prove that if you fight for what is right, you will prevail. Many of these arrests and prosecutions are flat-out wrong and a waste of the taxpayer’s money.”
So many other young people have been arrested in public housing from the year of 05 until now,
Many of them now have a felony on their records concerning these trespassing charges.

Special Report-Update about CPD Contact Cards

A Special Report
Are CPD Contact Cards Unconstitutional?
by Beauty Turner, (Original day printed)
June 12, 2007
Many public housing residents from the Dearborn Homes on the South Side are upset at the Chicago Police Department because they are being forced to give out personal information about themselves and their guests' lives.
They want to know if the police department's current requirement that they provide the information to put on contact cards as a method of deterring crime is unconstitutional and an infringement of their civil rights.
Five months ago, police officers began collecting these 'contact cards' from the residents of Dearborn Homes as well as their guests, according to Carol Wallace, a long-time resident of the public housing complex.
Beginning in January this year, Wallace said police officers began stopping residents and demanding they give out information so the officers can fill out contact cards that list their name, age, address, telephone number, height, weight, color of their eyes and hair, and if they had any tattoos.
"I just don't get it now. CPD is making us fill out contacts cards so they can keep tabs on us. I'm an American citizen," Wallace declared during a phone interview that month. "We are living as if we are in a Third World country somewhere. We are being treated as if we are living in a concentration camp.
RJ talked to other residents at the Dearborn Homes during a five-month investigation of the issue. Many said they thought that the police harassment was just another way to push them out of their homes to make way for pricey condominiums.
In May, RJ received more calls from residents of the Dearborn Homes complaining about the CPD making them fill out contact cards. "Im afraid to go outside these days. They are making our lives miserable," proclaimed Samuel Lord, a longtime resident of the Dearborn Homes.
Eleanor Murray also called in that month. "Every time I go outside, the police stop me and make me fill out contact cards. I think they even had the nerve to ask me for my social security number," she said.
While at the public housing site in early June, Joyce Smith, a disabled resident, told this reporter that she was also stopped by police officers, demanding that she too provide them with her social security number for the contact card.
RJ called Gail Singleton, the elected president of the resident council at the Dearborn Homes, to ask her what she thought about the police making residents and their guests fill out contact cards. She could not be reached by press time.
CPD's Views on the Contact Cards
In early January, RJ first called police spokesperson Pat Camden and asked him if there was any truth to the allegations about police officers forcing Dearborn Homes residents to fill out contact cards every time they are stopped by an officer.
"Yes. That is true we are asking people that we stop who come into the Dearborn Homes to fill out contact cards," Camden said during the phone interview that month.
Camden said the reason for asking the public housing residents to fill out the contact cards would be to assist CPD in solving crimes in that community.
If we received a call about a crime that has been committed in that area or nearby and someone described a suspect and we see that we have someone on the contact card that matches that description, we will investigate that person," Camden said.
RJ also asked Camden if the police department was requiring people all over the city to fill out contact cards, including those living on the Gold Coast.
"Yes. All across the city and by the way, the officers fill them out, not the person," he said.
RJ asked Camden to provide copies of the contact cards and data about how many contact cards had been filled out in other parts of Chicago. Camden did not provide this information by press time.
"Which way do you want us to go? We are damned if we don't do anything to deter crime and damned if we do," Camden added.
RJ spoke with Camden again on June 8 to find out if the police officers demanding the information for the contact cards were stationed at the Dearborn Homes.
"No. We are not stationed there. We do not have an office space there. We are there to serve and protect the residents, just like we are with the whole city," he said in a phone interview.
Camden added that the requests by the police department for residents and their guests to provide their personal information to police officers at the Dearborn Homes has been happening "as long as I have been a police officer, for 37 years."
CHA Comments on the Issue
RJ spoke to Derek Hill, a Chicago Housing Authority spokesperson,in January to inquire if the agency knew about the police department's initiative of making the Dearborn Homes residents and their guests fill out contact cards.
RJ also asked Hill if the situation was OK with the public housing agency, which currently pays the police department $16 million annually for "above baseline police services" for the duration of their massive $1.6 billion Plan for Transformation.
"The Chicago Housing Authority pays the Chicago Police Department money to patrol our properties," Hill said.
"And if that is what the Chicago Police Department felt that they needed to do to keep our residents safe, then they should do that."
Legal Aspects
Dearborn Homes resident Carol Wallace called RJ again in May about the contact cards. She wanted to know if the police officers' demands for information were legal.
Where are our policy makers? Our so-called leaders? Why aren't they addressing these issues that are affecting so many low-income Black people?" she asked.
"Didn't Hitler do that to the Jews? Make them show them their papers and fill out contact cards on them," said an unidentified neighbor of Wallace's again during a telephone interview in April.
RJ called American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Adam Schwarz to inquire if it is an infringement of the Dearborn Homes residents' rights for police officers to ask them for information to fill out contact cards.
"There is a policy in the city called 'Terry Stops' but that is only if a person looks suspicious and you have reason to believe that that person may have done something. But that is not a reason to search or get contact cards filled out for everybody you come into contact with," Schwarz said.
"The fact that you are entering a home or exiting doesn't give rise to suspicious activities and should not be the basis of detaining or interrogating anyone."
Robert D. Whitfield, a co-counsel for the Central Advisory Council, the body of elected CHA resident representatives, also questioned the legality of asking for information from residents in this way.
"Yes. It is highly questionable and yes, it is illegal if they are stopping every single person no matter what," Whitfield said during an interview at a CHA Board of Commissioners meeting at the Charles Hayes Center in mid-May.
3rd Ward Alderman's Response
The news of the police asking the Dearborn Homes residents to provide them with background information about themselves for the contact cards didn't sit too well with newly elected 3rd Ward Alderman Pat Dowell.
"No. They shouldn't be doing that to low-income people," Dowell said on June 7.
"We don't live in South Africa. That's not right. I will definitely be looking into this."

Class Action Lawsuit Aimed At City Of Chicago Gathers Momentum

Notes Attorney Tamara N. Holder

Also Set To Sue Chicago Police Department For Defamation Of Character, Returns To Ickes Homes Monday November 5, 2007 at Noon, Joining Reverend Jackson and Rainbow PUSH Coalition

CHICAGO, IL (November 5, 2007) – Tamara N. Holder, Esq., who has led the fight for Harold Ickes Homes residents from day one, announces that the class action lawsuit filed against the City of Chicago in October is gaining momentum with over 300 complaints received thus far. Attorney Holder notes that there are more lawsuits to follow; such as false arrest, warrantless searches, trespass cases and a possible suit against Chicago Housing Authority (CHA).

CHA appears to do nothing to defend their residents, who live in filth and fear every day. With the degradation of women being searched by male officers, who put their hands down female’s pants. Together with allegations of police taking small amounts of money from people and commenting, “Thanks for my lunch money!” As well as allegedly informing residents that they are subject to search at any time because they live in government housing.

CHA risks being sued for a number of claims, such as building code violations; examples of which can be seen with elevators that do not close properly and faulty fire alarms. It has also been documented that CHA contracts out much of its work to entities such as private management companies; and Chicago Police, who are paid millions of dollars per year. Chicago police have also been reported to have had the CHA contracted towing company remove vehicles without CHA knowledge or consent, amongst other allegations.

The specific lawsuit only brings to issue that of the so-called “contact cards” being used under the guise “to monitor criminal activity.” Individuals stopped on the Chicago Housing Authority property are forced to provide officers with their vital info or risk being arrested for trespass, disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice, and interference with police investigation.

Attorney Holder will be returning to Ickes Homes Monday November 5, 2007, to garner updates; she will be joined with Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. and the Rainbow PUSH Coalition.

Defendants Acquitted In Ickes Trespass Case Elevates

Who's backing Barrack or Hillary?
In our communities granulated, grayish dust continues to spill down the side of public housing, low rises, mid rises, walls in IDA B Wells public housing complexs.
Many of these residential housing developments are having their date with a wrecking ball; while numerous of aims from the wrecking ball is taking away big chunks of concrete and mortal where people lived and once called their homes.
Sights like this is taking place all over the windy city, as well as now in other cities and states.
High rises, mid rises, low rises on the south side, northwest side as well as the west side of town in Chicago, places such as Robert Taylor Homes,Stateway Gardens, Rockwell Gardens,Henry Horner Homes,Cabrini Green development, Madden Park Homes. Darrow Homes, as well as other public housing developments are experiencing this shift in housing displacement.
Even some Section 8 residential rental housings.
There are blue prints on somebody table to dismantle and displace places like Grove Parc Apartments on 61 Street and Cottage Grove after all they have now failed at least three HUD Housing of Urban Development inspections.
Many of the residents that lived in these places that I mention do not have jobs and have difficulty acquiring gainful employment, after all many places are now laiding off workers, places such as the Chicago Housing Authority, President Todd Stroger firing people in health care, as well as in the prison system, plus Mayor Richard M.Daley is shutting down schools in the educational system, thereby laying off teachers, teachers aids, and the likes, transportation is looking at a dooms day senario because of lack of funds.
People are being stacked up on top of each other like boxes in a factory at relatives homes after becoming displaced out of these housings.
Shelters are being overcrowded leaving many peple with no where to go.
And yet the CHA ambitious plan is not yet over.
Jobs are shipping out and going overseas leaving American people without a roof over their heads or food on their tables.
Many of the people that living under these conditions believe that the United State Senators Barack Husien Obama or Hillary Clinton will not be visiting the people who live in these areas that I mention.
Police shootings of civilians are rising like mercury in a themostrat on a blizary snowy, day in the winter time.
33 police shootings of civilians and 18 fatalities have occurred since January 07 until now.
No Presidential candidates have talked to or spent any time with the weeping mothers, who's children have been the victims of these 33 shootings nor the mothers of the 33 shootings of school age children by gangs.
The sad part is that these shootings and violence are errupting like a volcano in these candidates back yards right here in Chicago.
How can you clean up the rest of the world back yards
when your yards are filthy?
Violence and killing are taking place on our city streets right here in the good old windy city of Chicago, and not just in war torn Iraq! The displacement of the poor, as well as the violence are ripping out the social fabrics that made American's, America! My question to Barack as well as to Hillary who is backing us?
By the way you are both invited to hear the voice of the voiceless by getting on my famous Beauty's Ghetto Bus Tour.
Will you be the president for some of the people or for all?

CHA Untrue Units

CHA Untrue Units
By: Ms. Beauty Turner

24% of the federal housing budgets has been cut .
I know you are asking what does that mean to me?
It means 8 million dollars were yanked from the Chicago Housing Authority Relocation Transformation plan according to Derek Hill CHA spoke person.

A plan that is moving ten of thousands of low income residents in to so called mixed income communities as well as into the private market.

A long stag came into the seam of this silk nylon plan; creating a bit of confusion as well as chaos between private market landlords and CHA.
What CHA didn’t tell you which is what I’m uncovering from their piles of demolition dirt is that they had contracted with private landlords to move some of the residents into what they called true units.
But the truth is they gave out very little detail when they were relocating the last of Robert Taylor residents and some of State way Garden residents into what the residents felt were their permanent units into the private market.
From the residents points of views the truth is that CHA can no longer live up to their obligation when it comes to paying those private landlords so guess what many of those same people who moved about a year ago has to move again.
Two such resident are Community Activist Barbara Moore and her daughter Kolette Moore a young mother of two teenage boys who were relocated from the last building standing in the Robert Taylor Homes,
You might remember it; a reddish sixteen stories public housing high-rise that stood off the back of the street on Federal, right across from the Boys and Girls Club located at 5135 South Federal.
In November the Moore’s called me and asked me to come over so I did.
They had moved one block over east from where Robert Taylor Homes once stood. .
The building that they moved to was a three flat brick building, sandy off white covering with over fifteen units in it, which stood right across the street from Reverend Hubert B. Martin’s Church “Progressive Community” located at 4752 South Wabash.

Kolette Moore said to me
“I haven’t even been to court and this landlord is forcing CHA to move me to the Trumbull Lowden Homes, “ during an interview on November 29th at her mother home. Which by the way was directly right across the hall from where Kolette lived. .
Her mother and her were moved about a year ago from the last building that were standing in the Robert Taylor Homes .
Barbara Moore is a well known activist who is known for standing her grounds when former CEO of CHA Phillips Jackson wanted to tear down her building where she were the President at 5266 South State Street.
Her and the Coalition to Protect Public Housing raised a strong fight against the CHA in 1998.
“ “CHA moved me and my daughter into this building together because they knew that I could no longer walk and I’m suffering from a lot of different illnesses,” Barbara said hardly being able to breath properly.
“Now a year later they are forcing my daughter to move away from me and she haven’t even been to court,” Barbara. Moore added.
“If I get sick or if there’s a fire here who will help me get out; I’m an invalid now; I can‘t walk,” Barbara continues.
“Beauty CHA is sending a truck here tomorrow to force me and my children to move to a place that I know nothing about!” Kolette said in a tearful voice.
“I have sons they will not be safe there!” Kolette added.
“I heard that there’s a lot of shooting that is taking place there!” Kolette added. .
“How could they just come to your home in one day and say you have to move and they told me that they don’t have to have an explanation?” Kolette went on to say.
“My mother need me here she doesn’t have anyone to help her get dress, eat or wash up; this is not right!” Kolette went on to say. “I’m her care taker how could they do this? “ Kolette breaking down into a fit of tears. “That’s my mama!” Kolette moaned.
“CHA nor this city or private landlords doesn’t seem to care about us!” according to Kolette.
I called CHA spoke person Derek Hill and told him about Kolette and Barbara Moore situations as well as their concerned..
“She agreed to move last week now she’s complaining,” Hill said.
“We are saving Kolette from being evicted by giving her a newly rehabbed unit in the Trumbull Lowden Home.” according to Hill.
“These are temporary units we begged the private landlord to let some of our residents stay here.”
Hill added.
Now those landlords want their money or want the relocated residents out of their buildings.
“Why can’t she take her mother with her?” Hill said doing a late night telephone interview.
I asked Barbara Moore why can’t she move with her daughter?
“My hospital is not too far away from here,” Barbara Moore said.
Trumbull Lowden Homes are too far away from all of the things that I need like my hospital, and medication!
Moore added.
“How can they just come to our homes and move us out when ever they feel like it without due process of the law,“ Barbara said.
“Last I looked this is still America! “ Barbara Moore added.
The next day bright and early before the sun begin to shine a big CHA moving truck pulled up to 47 52 South Wabash and moved Kolette and her family to the Trumbull Lowden homes leaving her invalid mother behind to fend for herself.
Barbara’s voice cracking as she tried to explain to me on the telephone about her dilemma “Who will go and pay my bills, pick up my medication, take me to the hospital !”
Cast Management which is the private management company for the building they lived in- agreed that Kolette Moore lived at 4752 South Wabash but decline to say anything else.
I talked to a lawyer Nicky Bazer from the legal Federation about this situation.
And she told me that what they did to Kolette doesn’t ring right to me.
“CHA didn’t tell us that the units that we were relocated to weren’t our permanent units, matter fact we were told that they were our permanent units!” Kolette Moore said.
Residents question to CHA what else are you not telling the truth about?

4 Anti War Activists Arrested at Bush Luncheon

Anti War Activists served Bush at his luncheon in Chicago

National Lawyers Guild observers report that there were 4 arrests. Arrestees include Andy Thayer, Gay Liberation Network and CCAWR and Kevin Clarke and Jeff Pickert from the International Solidarity Movement (I SM-Chicago ),

Demonstrators clash with cops outside Bush luncheon
- Associated Press.

CHICAGO -- Four antiwar demonstrators were arrested Monday in a brief clash with police outside the Union League Club in downtown Chicago where President Bush had just finished lunch with civic leaders.
The demonstrators tried to dart from the curb and into the street outside the club to stretch a large green banner saying "End the War and the Occupation" in front of Bush's motorcade.

They continued to struggle as horse-mounted police forced them back to the curb. Four of those who defied the officers and struggled to get into the street with their banner were arrested and taken away in a police van.

The names of those arrested and the charges against them would be released later, authorities said.

Fewer than 100 demonstrators waited for hours for Bush's motorcade to leave the club, which is located on Jackson Boulevard in the south Loop around the corner from Chicago's Everett M. Dirksen Federal Courthouse.

The demonstrators were closely watched by 15 horse-mounted police in powder-blue helmets. A huge powder-blue Streets and Sanitation Department truck sealed off the west end of the block in front of the club.

When the motorcade finally left, it was moving so fast that if Bush saw anything of the demonstrators it was no more than a fleeting glimpse.

Some people clustered on the sidewalk booed as the motorcade whisked by and as the demonstrators were taken into custody one young girl shouted: "This is what democracy looks like." Other bystanders cheered the president as his car went by, although it is unlikely he heard either.
